The March, 2010 base prices for asphalt are listed on the chart below.

Asphalt cement is based on a Special Provision dated
July 1, 2002 and January 21, 2002.

* The March (New) index (PG Grade) is based on an average of the following five suppliers posted prices:

A Special Provision dated January 12, 1995, also requires that this same information be utilized in its metric (SI) equivalent. We are providing this information effective March, 1995.

NOTES: * A "New" index was adopted in January 2002 which utilizes the sources as referenced above. The new 2002 index also discontinues the use of an index for bituminous material (tack).

An "Old" index will also be maintained for jobs bid prior to February 5, 2002. This index will be maintained until all work bid under this index has been placed. The sources for the "Old" index reflect that CITGO is now operating a facility in Bristol, VA, formerly operated by Tosco.

** Effective January, 1997, the asphalt index for bidding and placement will be based on a price per ton for Performance Grade (PG) 64-22, in lieu of AC 20.
