WVDOH Oct 21st Letting Deferred Due to AWS Outage

WVDOH

The West Virginia Division of Highways, WVDOH, has announced that all projects residing on the October 21st letting will be deferred to the October 28th letting.  This comes following a major outage suffered by Amazon Web Services(AWS) early Monday morning(10/20).  AWS is a major provider of cloud infrastructure technology, accounting for roughly a third of the market share.  During this outage, numerous major services and apps went offline or are suffering degraded performance, among which is AASHTOWare software suites, including BidX, BidExpress, etc.

Due to the inability to access WVDOH's bidding platform, and seeing no restoration as of 2pm WVDOH contacted APAWV to inform industry of the deferment.  Once BidX is restored, projects will be moved to the new letting.  You can view the lettings here.
