MP Committee Meeting – April 16, 2025
The WVDOH announced an upcoming Materials Procedures (MP) Committee meeting. The meeting will be held in person on April 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Materials Control Soils and Testing Division Conference Rm., 190 Dry Branch Drive, Charleston WV. For those unable to attend in person please join via Google Meet (see details below).
This month’s meeting agenda includes ten old business items as detailed below.
- 106.10.50 WVDOH Buy America Acceptance Guidelines(UP FOR VOTE)
- Removes waiver for Manufactured Materials in anticipation of FHWA Update.
- 700.04.22 Method for Approving Devices Used for Testing Density and/or Moisture Content of In-Place Material(UP FOR VOTE)
- Process for creating approved list for Density/Moisture Devices
- 307.00.50 - Guide for Quality Control and Acceptance Plans for Subgrade, Base Course, and Aggregate Items
- Addition of Trail Surface Aggregate
- 679.02.99 - Calibration of Concrete Continuous Mobile Mixer
- New Document. Kiana to discuss.
- MA-1 - Operating and Emergency Procedures for Nuclear Gauges
- Reconfirmation/update of practices
- ML-25 - Procedure for Monitoring the Activities Related to Sieve Analysis of Fine and Coarse Aggregate
- Reconfirmation/update of practices
- 711.03.23 - Mix Design for Portland Cement Concrete
- Replacing the Rapid Chloride Permeability test with the Surface Resistivity Test, and the SAM testing requirements for Mix Design approval.
- 601.00.49 - Method of Test for Determining the Condition of Concrete Bridge Decks
- New Document. Kiana to discuss.
- 700.00.54 - Procedure for Evaluating Quality Control Sample Test Results with Verification Sample Test Results
- Significant Updates, Dan to discuss.
- 106.03.50 - General Information Guide for Technician and Inspector Certification Program (TICP)
- Changing 3 to 5 years for certification, adds apprentice program.
A single new business items will also be presented to the committee:
- 700.00.50 Method for Acceptance of Compaction Testing
- Addition of Definition
